PILATES

Pilates is a safe & effective way to build strength and connect with your body, whether you’re using a mat or equipment. It’s great for improving posture, gaining body awareness, and boosting self confidence. Inspired by the principles of Joseph Pilates, this practice can make a big difference in how you look and feel. Pilates helps you strengthen and tone while improving range of motion and flexibility. Plus, it’s gentle on the body and great for easing back pain. The best part? Pilates is for everyone—any age, shape, or fitness level with modifications for all.

Reformer Pilates with Lacey

REFORMER PILATES

Reformer Pilates is a dynamic style of Pilates that uses a unique machine called the Reformer Apparatus, which looks like a bed with springs, a sliding platform (carriage), ropes, and pulleys. The springs add resistance, the carriage provides support, while the ropes and pulleys help make the movements smooth and flowing. Designed by Joseph Pilates back in the 1920s, the Reformer is effective for strengthening your core, improving balance, and training coordination. It is also ideal for rehab because you can work lying down, which reduces pressure on your legs and joints. Whether you're aiming for core stability, flexibility, or overall body strength and mobility; Reformer Pilates offers incredible benefits for ALL! We utilize the time-tested Balanced Body Studio Reformers in our studio in Fort Collins.

At The Movement Apothecary we also have the innovative Konnector Attachment on our Reformers. This gives us even more range for exercises and modifications on the Reformer! The Konnector is a single-rope pulley system with attachment points for all four limbs. The patented system enables independent and simultaneous movement of both arms and legs. Users experience constant proprioceptive feedback, facilitating full-body integration and stronger core activation. PLUS, we are the only studio in Fort Collins that offers this groundbreaking apparatus!

Reformer I - Fundamentals is a beginner class to introduce participants to the Pilates method and apparatus. We always encourage those who are new to Pilates to try this class first!

Reformer II is an all levels class for those who are new to Pilates as well as those who are well practiced in Pilates. Each class depends on who arrives and will be ever evolving. We are always building in this class!

Reformer III is an intermediate/advanced Reformer Pilates class that is challenging and dynamic! It is geared towards those who feel confident in their Pilates practice and want to expand their abilities.

KRIYA YOGA & MEDITATION

This is not your typical yoga class. It is a transformative experience. Each class incorporates four elements: mantra (chanting/singing), mudra (hand gestures), movement & asana (yoga poses) and meditation (guided or silent). This is a unique practice utilizing ancient yogic technology to achieve self-mastery and optimal holistic health!

This class is trauma-informed, inclusive, and accessible. No prior yoga experience is necessary. Chair adaptations will be provided for those who cannot sit on the floor. Please wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing.

YIN YOGA

Yin yoga invites us to step away from the chaos and stresses of the external world, and journey within. It’s a rejuvenating hour where you don’t have to focus on anything but the task at hand: holding the shape of the poses and maintaining an even, measured breath.

Yin yoga gently stretches and strengthens our deep connective tissue like the fascia, ligaments and joints. Regular yin practice can improve mobility, ease stiffness, and support long-term flexibility. Students often notice better sleep, lower stress levels, and a more grounded state of mind after class. By gently stimulating the body’s connective tissues and calming the nervous system, yin helps restore balance to both body and mind. This is a wonderful midday reset in the middle of your busy week!
